My Final Four Picks

kdlabel

What’s good y’all? Hopefully you’ve been following us down the stretch of the regular season here. We’re in the middle of our final three-game road trip right now, so hopefully we can keep racking up some wins.

On another note, I can’t believe March Madness is almost over! This has been one of the most surprising tournaments I’ve ever followed. Teams like Butler and Michigan State, I didn’t think they’d get this far. Or even West Virginia for that matter. It’s been unpredictable to say the least. But it’s still been fun and I’m looking forward to seeing who advances to the national title.

Obviously, I won’t be able to watch most of the Final Four because we’ll be playing in Dallas, but I’ll still give you my two cents.

Out of the remaining four teams, my favorite to take it all is Duke. They look the best out of the other teams in the Final Four right now, so I think they can win it. I had Duke in one of my brackets, but that was about it. Also, I grew up with Nolan Smith, so I want to wish him and the Blue Devils luck. Hopefully he’ll bring the title back to D.C. We used to play against each other all the time as kids.

And I think that guys like Da’Sean Butler from West Virginia, Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer from Duke, Gordon Haywood from Butler and Draymond Green and Durrell Summers from Michigan State have all been playing well. It’s nice to see them help their teams get so far.

So what do you all think? Did anyone pick Butler to get this far? How about the other teams? Anyone still winning their bracket? Let me know.

My Thoughts on March Madness So Far

kdlabel

What’s going on everyone? Hopefully you all have been well. We’re coming off a really nice win Wednesday over the Houston Rockets and now we’ve got the defending champion Lakers in town on Friday.

But of course the Big Dance is back again tonight and this weekend, so I figured I’d talk a little college hoops here.

First off, I did have a chance to watch a few games last weekend, and I saw some pretty good ones. Two of the best ones I was able to see were Villanova-St. Mary’s and Maryland-Michigan State. Of course, I saw my Texas Longhorns lose in the first round, and that was a real tough loss. But overall, it’s been a real fun tournament. Of course, whoever filled out a bracket, they’re all messed up now because Kansas lost. That shows how good each team that makes the tournament is and how every game is key.

A lot of players have caught my eye, too, aside from the obvious guys like John Wall, Evan Turner and DeMarcus Cousins. There’s Jimmer Fredette from BYU, he had a great tournament. Omar Samhan from St. Mary’s, he’s having a great tournament. Jordan Crawford played really well for Xavier. There’s a lot of guys. Jacob Pullen is playing very well. It’s a great group of guys and it’s going to be fun to see what they can do for their teams this weekend.

As far as the Sweet Sixteen goes, I really want to see Cornell and Kentucky. A lot of people are already writing Cornell off but I think they might have the right tools to go to the Final Four. I also want to see Northern Iowa play, too. I like the underdogs so it’s cool for a small school to be up in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight.

And if I had to choose any favorites, it’s got to be Kentucky or Syracuse. Those two have a good chance to win it and it’d be cool to see a group of young guys like Kentucky win it all or Syracuse as well. It’s going to be fun to watch and I’m looking forward to it.

Who do y’all have this weekend? Did anyone pick Northern Iowa to upset Kansas? Let me now in my comments section.

It’s March Madness Time!

What’s going on everyone? Are you all ready for March Madness? I know I am. We’ve got this three-game road trip coming up but course I’ll be keeping an eye on this year’s Big Dance.

And after some exciting conference tournaments, this looks like it’s going to be a tough bracket. There’s a lot of good teams that can give other teams some big problems. I always like to watch the eighth and ninth seed games and the 5-12 games. They’re always good so we’ll see how they go down.

As far as some of the more intriguing matchups of the tournament, you can mark me down for Louisville-Cal, Temple-Cornell and, of course, Texas-Wake Forest. I think those will all be worth watching. And I think the second round games are going to be a real joy to watch, too.

As far as the Final Four goes, I’m going to roll with all the top seeds, so Kansas, Syracuse, Kentucky and Duke. I expect to see you all playing in Indy. I’ve got Kansas-Kentucky in the title game, and my National Champion will be….Kansas! Yeah, that’s right, I’m going with the Jayhawks. First off, they’re from the Big 12, they’ve got a ton of weapons and they’ll pose a lot of matchup problems.

These are my picks off the top of my head. I’m going to fill out the rest of my bracket ASAP. And I’m sure we’ll be chatting about the Tournament as it unfolds.

So who do you guys have winning it all? Any major upsets? Games I shouldn’t miss. Let me know!
